Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs what you may and may not do with Clarulo. It is incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service. Violations may result in immediate account suspension or termination.

Permitted Use

Clarulo is designed for personal financial management. You may use it to:

  • Track your own income, expenses, and budgets
  • View and monitor your own bank accounts and credit information
  • Receive personalized financial insights and recommendations
  • Manage and correct transaction categorization for your accounts

Prohibited Activities

The following are strictly prohibited. This list is illustrative, not exhaustive.

Unauthorized access. Accessing accounts, data, or systems you are not authorized to access. This includes attempting to access other users' data or bypassing authentication controls.

Automated scraping. Using bots, crawlers, or automated tools to extract data from Clarulo in excess of what the Service is designed to provide to you personally.

Commercial resale. Reselling, licensing, or redistributing access to Clarulo or any data obtained through the Service without our prior written consent.

Fraud or misrepresentation. Providing false information during account registration, submitting fraudulent waitlist applications, or impersonating another person or entity.

Security attacks. Attempting to probe, scan, or test vulnerabilities in Clarulo's systems, or conducting denial-of-service attacks, injection attacks, or other exploits.

Account sharing. Sharing your account credentials with others, or creating accounts on behalf of third parties without their explicit knowledge and consent.

Unlawful use. Using the Service in any manner that violates applicable laws, regulations, or the rights of others — including privacy laws, financial regulations, and intellectual property laws.

Reverse engineering. Decompiling, disassembling, or otherwise attempting to derive source code or trade secrets from the Service.

Responsible Disclosure

If you discover a security vulnerability in Clarulo, please report it responsibly to security@clarulo.com before disclosing it publicly. We will respond within 72 hours and work with you to resolve the issue. We do not take legal action against researchers acting in good faith.

Enforcement

We monitor for violations of this AUP and reserve the right to:

  • Suspend or permanently terminate accounts involved in violations
  • Report illegal activity to appropriate authorities
  • Pursue civil or criminal remedies as permitted by law

We are not obligated to provide notice before taking action for serious violations.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this AUP at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email at least 14 days before they take effect.
